The Box at Freespace, West Kowloon: Japanese Gundam Diva Nami Tamaki Returns to Hong Kong after a 10-Year Hiatus

Japanese singer Nami Tamaki, known as the 'Gundam Diva', will hold a concert at The Box at Freespace, West Kowloon on Sunday, 17 August. After a decade-long absence, she will perform many of her well-loved and popular anime songs live in Hong Kong, thrilling fans who have long awaited this opportunity to experience her captivating vocals in person once again.

Nami Tamaki made her debut at the young age of 14 with 'Believe', the third theme song of 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED'. She later also performed the ending theme for 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY'. Her 2024 song 'Reborn' was selected as the support song for 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM'. Her involvement with the 'SEED' series cemented her status as the 'Gundam Diva' among fans of the franchise. Beyond Gundam, she has also lent her voice to other anime series such as 'D.Gray-man', 'Mai-HiME', 'The Silver Guardian', 'Vampire Holmes', and 'Concrete Revolutio: The Last Song', as well as the tokusatsu drama 'Ultraman Z' in recent years.

In addition to her music career, Nami Tamaki has actively participated in stage plays and musicals, showcasing her versatility as a performer. She has taken on roles such as Yuriko Asai in 'Meteor Garden The Musical', Queen Beryl in 'Sailor Moon -Nogizaka46 Version-', and Nicola in 'Kinky Boots', among others.

Nami Tamaki celebrated her 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry last year and was invited by the renowned YouTube music platform 'THE FIRST TAKE' to perform her debut song 'Believe' once more. This year, she embarked on an Asian tour, with Hong Kong as the final stop, giving local fans a chance to see her live on stage.
